I'm a Cowboy

You can stab me, shoot me fulla arrahs, plug me full a holes, I ain't fallin down.  Cuz I'm tougher'n boot, meaner n'rattlesnake and stubboner n'mule.  I'm still standin, standin tall, standin for my country, and not standin fer nuthin, and you know why?  It's cuz I'm a Cowboy, and a cowboy never gives up.

Earning Your Stripes

So with this new show, I have two lines and onstage for a total of about 15-20 minutes.   It's one of those roles that must be played and has to be played by someone.  It might as well be me.  I look at it as more stage time and a chance to work with professionals again.  I know you have to start somewhere and I guess that this is the point of beginning for me on the road to larger roles.  This is by far the toughest role I have had to play.   Some of you might be saying, "It's only two lines and a small amount of stage time.  Why is it hard?"  Well, I'll tell you.  It is a very small amount of time to make a big impression on the audience.  You cannot just brush this off.  There has to be just much focus, if not more, doing this type of role than a larger one.  I'm looking forward to the Christmas Story because I know that I will have the largest part that I have tried to tackle here yet.
Updates about the new move.  It looks like I have a place to live in DC.  A few friends that I met through one of the interns here have offered me a room at there house.  Talk about a large weight lifted off my shoulders.  It has been a wonderful experience here at Wayside, but I can't help but look ahead to what I have down the road in Washington DC.  Hope all of you are doing great.  Much Love!

Holy Crap!!!

So if this gives any of you an idea of how busy it gets, here it goes.  I haven't been able to post until now since the opening night post.  We're doing the show right now.  Unfortunately, it ends tonight.  We have to strike right afterward so it's gonna be a late night.  So new stuff.  I'm teaching an improv class and they have a show on Nov 11th.  It is so rewarding to see kids take the tools that you teach them and just run with them.  They are starting to get it.  Today, they just took the step on the road to taking the class away from me.  I love teaching these kids.  They are very eager to learn.  I know what you're thinking.  Why did they give me seven minds to mold in the world of improv?  Well, stop wondering why and just go ahead and admit that I rule.
Also, I have a one man show coming up in October.  It's October 20th and 21st to be specific.  So mark your calendars and make your road trip plans to come and see my show.  Oh yeah, we also have a group improv show, "The Planeteers", coming up.  That's the intern company troupe name.  Well, I hear my cue.  Must run!!  Much love to you all.  Love!

A Well Deserved Break

Opening night was amazing.  We had a great house and everyone was ready to go.  This has been, by far, the best stage experience of my life.  It is truely an amazing story to tell when there are 13 other actors on the stage that want to tell it just as bad as you.  The ensemble for this production is talented, committed, and hard working.  It is all about putting the best product onstage that you can.  I am so happy to be a part of it.  Only 21 more shows to do.  So for now I take my leave.  Farewell!  Goats and monkeys!
